Alternative
Fuel Cars: The Future
by SolveYourProblem.com
The
phrase “alternative fuel car” is what we will all be searching
for in another
five, ten and twenty years as oil
reserves run low and we are forced to pay higher prices for
gas than we ever thought possible. Starting today though, you
can seek out and find existing alternative fuel cars to
reduce that sucking sound on your wallet, and start saving
the depleting fuel resources. There are many topics
that can be addressed when discussing alternative fuel sources,
such as cars, home heating and running manufacturing
equipment, but here we are going to discuss
alternative fuels for cars.
What
type of vehicles are we going to drive in twenty
years? Rarely will you see cars driven purely
on gasoline. Gasoline, in the form sold
now, will not exist. If by chance it does, it is going to
be very, very expensive. The vehicles that we are going
to drive in the future will be based on electric, solar, hydrogen,
biodiesel or other sources we haven't even thought of yet.
Much
progress has been made in the search for alternative fuels,
and some vehicles are currently being tested, manufactured
and driven using these alternatives. But
most of us are
not aware of what is really going on and how much is
happening around us. One huge aspect on finding an alternative
fuel is that there are very few, if any, renewable
fuels out there. The use of electric and biodiesel for
running a vehicle are great alternatives to
gas and diesel, but not renewable.
Think
about a cow or a horse on a farm. These animals are eating
grass, grains and other types of living things to produce
energy and fuel for their bodies. Think about your future
car the same way. This car may accept more than one
type
of fuel in the tank to get you from
point A to point B. Finding and using these alternative fuels
for your car, truck or equipment will allow your
money go a lot further. Now think about all the buses, planes,
harvesters, tractors and lawn
mowers
that also run on fuel. There is so much fuel being used at
any one point in time by so many objects, that alternative
fuel is essential in order to sustain our needs long after
oil runs out.
One
source of alternative energy that we haven’t listed here
is pine needles and in the burning of wood.
While wood is a good source for heating homes and making
engines run
(such as in a train), it's got no future for cars. The
forests have been logged and the use of wood is now limited
in most areas
of the world.
What
are some of the problems facing the world when discussing
alternative fuel cars? The cost of manufacturing
a car is still high and testing still relatively new. We
do not know
how a car will react under very cold conditions,
in wind, in rain or in snow over extended periods of time.
Continued testing on how long a car will run, how many can
ride in the
car,
and
the life of the car are still being determined. All these questions
will be answered in time. With these answers and inevitable
mass production, the price of alternative fuel cars and alternative
fuels will
start
to
come
down.
